Giving Armin a nod, Mikasa headed off to her own quarters, letting off a small sigh as she began undoing all of the buckles that encircled her frame. Aside from the reiterations of the formation for the practice mission, it was rather uneventful in the Scouting Legion—so far.

The calm was more than welcome in her case. Finishing with the various belts, her hands trailed to her boots before someone poked their head in, getting a small hiss form her in return.

Someone was screaming, and from what assuming from the frantic screech it had to be Connie. Another sigh passed her lips, and she reluctantly put the boots back on. “—I suppose it’s my turn then?”

Pushing past her unwanted visitor, she followed Connie’s frantic wails, turning a corner and finding the frightened expression that was more than likely prematurely plastered onto his features.

“What is it, Connie?"

                         —Thud..

                                          —Clonk.

                                                         —Thud.

Darkened brows furrowed a bit then, and she grabbed a bit of his shirt, lurching him forward, and out of the way, "—what is that?”

Startledfrightened senseless; he turned to see his first responder–Mikasa? He was expecting one of the officers, perhaps even Reiner–not that it mattered, but it’d made sense if he had the capacity to think it through.

Mikas--” He began, which was promptly interrupted… a soft, low roar echoed up from the basement just beyond. A squirming, stifled squeal, and the young man attempted to regain his composure. He wanted to shout it aloud:

                           –MikasaThere’s somethingin the basement..

….His voice choked. He’d alert it. It’d know they were there if he were too loud. The roar only confirmed his previous theory, no–conclusion: there was a damn titan in the cellar.

It was just like before. Titans in a small, enclosed, dark space. Connie couldn’t do this again. He couldn’t screw things up this time, not while everyone slept, not while they had no clue that a threat resided within these cold stone walls. Raising his hands up, sliding the sweaty, clammy palms down the flanks of his jaw, he muttered it softly to to his teammate–

“–Mika, there’s a damn titan down there,” a reckless, terrified grin drew across his face. “You heard the growlin’ too just now, didn’t ya?”

How the hell did it get in there? He didn’t care. Connie just couldn’t face it; at the very least, he couldn’t face it alone. The young man’s hands slid off the edges of his chin, falling lifelessly to his sides.

As his fingertips grazed his thighs, he ran into another problem–he didn’t even have his gear on him, either.

         ….Useless, as always, bro.

                                      Not prepared, not ready.

                                                                            –Way to go.
